Spy Hunter Sit Down Arcade Game -- Uncommon version!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180478367975&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123

Here is a 1983 sit-down version of the very popular Spy Hunter arcade game from Bally Midway. Destroy enemy vehicles while cruising to the background theme of "Peter Gunn". This version is rarer than the stand up versions, and is the first one I have seen in my years in the pinball and arcade field.

I don't have a manual or schematics for it, but this is what I've done:

Replaced power cord
Installed leveler in seat area
Re-capped and adjusted monitor
Replaced trim on seat
Repaired power supply
Reseated chips on the board
Replaced the button on the steering wheel
Monitor is clean and crisp with some burn. There is a free play button on the coin door, and the lock opens with a screwdriver. I installed a lock with a key for the back door. The only thing I cannot troubleshoot without a schematic and time is the sound, which has noise from some kind of interference, but all sounds are audible and clear. Other than that, it plays great! The cabinet is in good shape, with a few of the normal scuffs and scrapes. There is some damage on the left of the seat and at the back right corner, in addition to some of the vinyl peeling at the back (see pics).

The source of his noise in the audio is probably just the switcher that's hacked into the game. I'm pretty sure I spotted one anyway.

Price is really, really good for the condition!

Of course, no telling what more subtle things are wrong with the game.

Yeah, decent price.I'm sure someone will go after this game.Definitely don't see very many of these.I would hate to move it.

I didnt see a switcher in there but I had one and it was doing a hum through the speakers so I rebuilt the power supply board and it stopped. That thing is beautiful and its heavy as lead too!!! LOL

Yep -- linear power boards are the way to go for Spy Hunter.

I see a linear power board in the last picture of the 1st row but it looks like there are no connections going to it and I see a metallic box sticking out on the left that I assumed was the switcher.

Dunno, I could be wrong.

Linear...and it's hooked up...the gray box you see is the PCB holder...

If that thing gets no bids at $350 then I'm going to lose my lunch!

There HAS to be someone out there waiting to snipe it. The previous poster was right; odds are the hum or interference is just the power board needing to be rebuilt.
