Cheap squeak is a slave to the SSIO... check the cabling between them for starters.... if the SSIO doesn't give it any commands, it won't play any music.

It's the sound board that's part of the main boardset stack.

And if you press the red button on the cheap squeak board you should get music regardless of the SSIO board.

Have you checked the volume pot on the game that controls the volume of the music? If it's turned all the way down then you won't hear anything.

I've adjusted the pot (s) but not tested it.

I swapped the cheap squeak with another untested board, same result

OK. You know there's 2 pots, right? One is game sounds, the other is for game music.

If you're still not getting anything then I'd look at the connections between the cheap squeak board and the dual amp board, and from there to the SSIO board on the main stack.

FYI

I took out the plate that holds the pots/test switches and discovered one pot had all three wires removed.

Re-soldered them and I'm up n running.

Just in time for my Halloween party
:)

I'll also add that when I first began rebuilding this cabinet, both speakers were disconnected as well.... Kooky operators.

Good for you -- glad you got it.

That was definitely the problem you wanted to have for this issue.
