Spy Hunter: music plays at startup, not during game

When I turn on Spy Hunter, I hear the music play but once I start a game it doesn't ever play. I moved the game recently and that is when I noticed this change. Any idea why it would play at startup and not during a game? I haven't had a chance to really start troubleshooting but figured I'd ask just in case it's something obvious I'm not aware of like a setting.

Being an MCR game, I would probably be checking those PCB ribbon cables first.

Welcome to the "new improved" KLOV tech section. It is now more of a journal to keep notes while you fix your games.

Ha ha! Actually it has new ribbon cables. I just find it particularly odd that I can hear the music on boot up. If I never heard music then I'd be more inclined to check cables and whatnot.

check the 2 connectors on the ssio that hook to the cab harness. chances are one of them isn't making good connection. The only time that PG should play at boot is if its not communicating with the 3 board stack.

Ah!!! OK, great. I didn't realize it isn't supposed to play at boot, but I'm sure I just never thought about it. Thanks!!!

LOL, I thought mine was messed up because it doesnt play on boot, it plays during the game and every 5 mins or so on attract mode

Unplugged and re-plugged them and now it's working again. Thanks cd! You are the SH man for sure!!! :beerchug:

lol.... that's how i know i forgot to plug something up when i'm testing a board. If i flip it on and hear peter gunn, i know something's wrong.... Then, once i get whatever i forgot hooked up, i go around to the front of the machine, see the blank screen, and then go hook up the video cable....I put a lot of SH boards in my cab.... I've already wore out one set of connectors for the pcb stack.
