I have a Spy Hunter that I would like to trade for something else. Right now it's running great. When I got it, there were many, many issues. The monitor was a mess with electrical tape used to cover up the edges where it was all screwed up.
EDIT: There is some Qbert burn on the monitor. I forgot that I HAD a really nice monitor I was going to throw into this and I broke the neck of the tube
The right trigger button was plexiglass cut really rough in about the same shape as a normal trigger, I replaced that with one I bought form someone on here.
The gas pedal was a gigantic piece of sheet metal with a diamond plate sticker on it. I replaced that with a gas pedal I bought from the same person as the trigger. There is a block of styrofoam under the pedal to make it in the right position to be calibrated (and it's calibrated perfectly).
The bottom of the front was painted black. It's not horrid, but it should be noted that it's not normal.
I disconnected the ground from one of the coin slots because the wire thing that gives a credit is so loose that if you walked by it got a credit.
I replaced the interconnect cables with a set from Bob Roberts.
I had the board repaired because it has all sorts of issues with graphics when I got it.
I had it repaired again because the linear power supply blew a fuse and then the board was dead.
I replaced the linear power supply with a heavy duty switcher and MCR adapter from Arcade Shop. I might repair the original and keep the switcher for one of my other MCR games.. Unless I'm offered a really nice trade and then whatever, you can have both.
Between the two board repairs, I had the turbo cheap squeak board repaired because the music quit on me.
I seriously have over $700 into this game and I think it's really solid now.. or maybe Spy Hunter isn't a game that can take being on the 10ish hours a day that I keep my games on in my arcade. I'm not saying it's worth 700, I'm just saying what I have into it.
It works 100% right now. I might leave it off so it stays so. I just don't want to put more into it and it's one of those games that I loved as a kid and can't get into now, which is kind of sad, I was super excited to get it.
Make me an offer in trade or if you have nothing to trade you can offer cash, although I'd really rather have a game to take it's place. You can come see or play it anytime at our store/arcade, see the url in my signature for details on where we are.
