Just got my spy hunter running mostly except the helicopter in the game doen't draw properly. Parts of it are here and there and use different sprites from the game to form it. You can see bits of the parts van and smoke ect. Also the smoke screen isn't all smoke, it has bits of the parts van in it. Anyone have this happen to their machine? Reseated the chips ,reflowed cold solder joints and recapped the board. No change.

i'd guess one or more of the 93422s on the video board, or something in their address circuitry.

Thanks for the response. I was about to swap out said chips from another video board that also had sketchy sprites and noticed cp 6 or cp 8 had a leg unseated. Reset the chip and decided to give the board a shot. Turns out that was all that was wrong with the board. Talk about beginners luck. On to the next problem.

How interesting... there's another example of that white line on the bottom of the screen...

All Spy Hunter's have that white line.......unless someone has tweeked the monitor and moved it "off screen".

Yeah, but why?

And did they have them back in 1983?

Yes, they were this way fresh out of the box.....it's just sloppy design.
A lot of MCR hardware games have this "garbage"......Tron comes to mind.

It seems to be an issue with all the card rack and mcr games. I noticed professor pac has random garbage and static that pops up on the screen for a split second when the screen changes. At first I thought it was a board issue but later found that they all do it.
