Spy Hunter...have to recalibrate wheel every time I disconnect power supply board

every time I disonnect power supply board I need to adjust steering wheel calibration in menu...just wanted to see if this is normal for spy hunter or if I should adjust pot on steering wheel gear...thanks!

yea I wasn't sure if the wheel has a spot on the gear pot where the center is...that way even if I lost battery power and turned game on wheel would still be centered...I took wheel out and put it back in and wasn't sure what was center on the gear for the wheel....

I must be remembering wrong. I thought there was no way to calibrate the wheel through the menu, the calibration simply shows the values coming out of the pots. I thought calibration was accomplished by adjusting the pot until the correct value was displayed on the screen. Is there actually a way to save calibration info?

Yes the wheel can be centered and be made to NOT rely on the battery for centering instructions. Its a b*tch though IMO (not hard just annoying). The POT can be perfectly (nearly) centered with the machines known center point.

With the game off you need to get to the POT so that you can adjust it by hand - doing this from memory now - you need to pull the shaft so its allowing you to adjust the POT. Than turn the game on, adjust the pot on the calibration screen to center, lock the shaft back on (with the wheel center of course). Game will always be centered now - no need to tell it between power cycles what center is.

Mine is off by 1 click to the right - its minor, only i notice it, but i dont feel like adjusting the POT / taking the steering off to do it.

yep that is what I am trying to do...pain in the ass...going to try again over the weekend...

I think you guys are trying to make this too hard. There are two screws that mount the pot that are slotted to allow for adjustment. Just flip open the panel, go to the calibration screen, loosen the two screws, and set the pot to the correct location. It's really not that bad :)

I don't have a battery on my SH upright and it never has an issue with the steering wheel calibration?

Then it happens to be close to being neutral w/o needing any adjustment or you're not very picky. :)
