That was an interest in buying. I need a little more info from seller and it should be good. I'm hoping anyway.

Etiquette question

So I'm new here. I need some help with KLOV etiquette from more experienced KLOVers. Is this an issue?

Machine was posted. I PM'd. We began talking. I got my questions answered. We agreed on a price. I asked for a video before purchasing. Seller said it was mine. Was fine with PayPal after seeing video. Never sent video. Stopped responding to pm's for the next three days. Never gave me his PayPal address. Marked it as sold (I presumed to me), but it was to someone else.

I feel cheated (and not happy...was really looking forward to surprising my kids with this...their fave game) and am wondering if this is out of bounds or if this is commonly found KLOV etiquette. I know in other circles, this would be negative feedback material.

Thanks for your help.

I think it sounds like you were screwed and I would say negative feedback worthy. But, it's technically his until money is exchanged and he can change his mind...it sucks. Was your agreed price less than the asking price? Possibly someone swooped in with higher offer. At the very least it sounds like poor communications from the seller.

I had an agreed on deal once...it was the sellers price we agreed to. The next day when I tried to get address he said "someone was here buying a game and offered 200 more. He said I could match it but I passed. Kinda sucked. Took me awhile to get over it. But I learned if the money hasn't exchanged hands anything is possible.

Sure. It's just bad business in a place where it should be safe for collectors and hobbyists to avoid some of the CL bs. That's why I'm here.

Bad communications by the seller at a minimum. If you agreed on the price and there's no dispute there and made it conditional on a video (which I would have done as well), then I'd leave him negative feedback.

I've been doing this hobby long enough to tell you, don't fall into the trap of thinking KLOV or any other place is "safe for collectors." Over time you'll make a few, maybe a small handful, of friends you can trust. For everyone else on the planet, don't let your guard down. This is as true for friends you make inside the hobby as it is for the rest of life, maybe even more so since money is often involved. People are people, and it's a lesson I've had to learn over and over again. Trust should be earned, and even then it can still be lost or even pissed away.

I had a nearly final deal in the works with the seller as well. It is never a done deal till you pick it up. Both sellers and buyers get burned waiting for each other, unfortunately this one got away, it happens. I would not leave negative feedback, the reality is, you did not have a solid deal lined up.

I think it's shitty for someone to step in and offer more IF they are told that someone beat them to it. I've never done that out of respect, and never will. As for your word. Your only as good as your word. Some believe in it, some don't, but I'd like to think in a community like klov, the respect should be there.

Agreed, from a legal perspective. But I'd like to think that we could and should set the bar a bit higher here on KLOV.

I get it; I just have one person's side of the story and frequently that's not the complete picture. But if a price was agreed on by both parties and a video was requested before payment, that game should have been off-limits at that point.

I'd leave negative feedback for that but that's just me.
