Attention new owner of that Spy Hunter.

The very first thing you need to do when you receive the game is cut off that battery on the linear power board. It's a ticking timebomb that will eventually ruin that board.

Thanks will do. Gonna see if cdjeep can clean it up for me w some new IDE ribbon cables too. They turn into dust if you touch them when they are that old.

The ones that you want come from Madrits here on KLOV. They go on like butter. It may be that cdjump gets them there too, IDK.

Note how successfully I'm resisting any jokes or puns with you calling cdjump "cdjeep". :)

If you're going to send him your boards, you might as well include the linear power board. He can check it over for corrosion from that 35 year old leaky battery.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have no idea what mine looks like on the inside... o_O

Will check asap!

This is what you want to get rid of, Jawhn.

I personally soldered about 3' of wires to those leads on the power board and hooked up a NiCD phone battery to it and put it in a sandwich bag. I've been running that way for 10 years and everything has been great.

If you still have that battery on the board, once you've clipped it off you should check the board around where it was mounted to make sure that you don't have battery leakage to clean up. It'll eat the traces and the board if it's left there too long.

OK, so you don't remember if you did that, Hec? I'll go check the heavy beast now.
