FS Game: Spy hunter - all original, complete, working - 2250 - Raleigh nc

> they were $700 - 800 on ebay in 2019

Okay, but that wasn't a typical price range for the game in 2019. There may have been some outliers at that price, or some beat to hell games at that price, but I can guarantee that wasn't a typical price for a game in reasonable condition then. That was just pre-covid and the economy was doing well and so was this hobby.

Maybe where you live but here I never paid over 600 for any game and at that price it had to be mint. In fact there is a storage unit near me with around 30 games in it unknown which ones but the man selling them told me 50.00 a piece and the more I buy the cheaper they get. It could be a honey whole or complete grabage who knows.

Just adding my 2 cents here - I just purchased back a Spy Hunter I owned and sold to a friend a couple years ago for 2400. It was a bit nicer then this one and fully working, needs nothing. Spy Hunter is a hard game to find so I think the value will stay for a bit on nice examples. Most owners don't seem to want to sell this title. I forgot how fun this can be... I had sold it to get a Dragons Lair that I never bought. (still too hard for me) Oh well.

Good luck out there guys!

$2500 is not the new norm. There's just a lot of greedy fuckers out there.
I don't know, I'm seeing an awful lot of sales at about that price. it looks like the new norm to me.

that's assuming they're in nice shape though.

The asking price is completely normal for this title. It makes zero difference how much the current owner paid for it. If he got it for free, it's still a two thousand dollar game. Market value doesn't care whether a previous buyer underpaid or overpaid.

So if 2500 is a fair price why haven't any of the spyhunters listed sold? Punch out is a sawed after game to at around the same price and I've seen half a dozen unsold on multiple forums. The market for games is correcting itself. The fact is the demand is down and people don't have money to burn on games.

Spy Hunters do sell. If you've got a nice Spy Hunter, post it here. It will sell. If you ask two thousand or less for it, it will likely sell soon.

Also, the asking price for this machine is currently $2250, not $2500. Often, people post a price that is a bit higher than they are willing to accept, giving them some room for negotiation if they want, or the ability to lower the price if there are no takers at that price point. This is extremely basic stuff in any collecting hobby. Please send the Price Police back to the station.

I'm aware I've been doing it 25yrs. My point is these games are not bringing the money they once did. I actually have a huo spyhunter as well as multiple others that have never seen a route or arcade.

For sure, the repetetive '$2500 is the new norm' statement sounds like a shill once the same person reiterates it multiple times...

Well, I wouldn't sawed a Punch Out!! But seriously you are right. Punch-Out!! is a great example of this. I got caught in the hype. Machines (very good ones) were going for big, big bucks. And I could not find one. Then a conversion came up with a nice cab. I'm in a lot of money right now, when I should have waited and bought a complete cab. Though mine is going to look NEW. Repaired boards, etc. Wiring ( I still have to order from Tony). It'll be sweet, but there are some Punch-Outs!! to be had for OK money. A Super Punch-Out!! sold for a very reasonable price last week on here in hours. Good deal.

Wow, can't believe this sold for that amount. Definitely against the current thread of arcade machine prices right now n
Yes. I look at that $7000 price and it either didn't really sell (scam purchase/listing) or perhaps it was a once in a lifetime sale to someone with more money than sense.

Picking out 1 isolated sale will not move the "normal" price range of sales of this game, which the buying guides will point out.

I ran into one of these insane "sales" sometime ago for an Escape on eBay. It turned out to be completely BS. Selling a 7k Spy Hunter and it's local pickup only with a 1 line description. Odd

Even today, a non restored Spy Hunter is not worth anywhere near 7k. Just my 2 cents.

i agree a un restored should be no where near that , It legit sold for that though. I talked with the seller . wont be BS because when u sell on ebay they take a percentage . Why would someone BS sale it and have to pay all those fees? Just proves that there is a price for every wallet .. On another note Does anyone have Spy hunter pedal parts for sale ? as in a rear gear box and the gear with the rod on it Dont even care if the rods broke off

I have seen it where an item is sold for a high price, then the exact same item reappears months later for sale again, and again (same pics even) however under a different seller account. When a buyer defaults the seller doesn't get charged fees and it still lists the item as sold.

Like you said not in this case perhaps. Still mind blowing. To me thats 4Kish more than value!

BUT!

Still not more expensive than Gene... maybe thats what happened. Because anytime you type arcadegamename for sale on Google, you get Genes website. The eBayer may have seen it for $7900 on VA and thought it was a deal at 7k.

Do you need parts for an upright of cockpit?
