I'm repairing a Sprint 2 board for someone and it turns out he has a couple bad Proms at L0 and L1. Does anyone have of an image of those two chips? On this board they're 74s573 so you will need a reader that can do bi-polar PROMs

Another option might be to try and get it from the 2k ROM file in MAME. I can split the 2k file into the 1k I need that's simple enough but then it would require splitting that file into the 4 MSB and 4 LSB, does anyone know how to do that?

Thanks

Blinddog

I haven't looked at the schematics yet but the 74573 is an 8-bit device so I have to question splitting MSB/LSB.

It's a 4 bit output, equivalent to a 82s137.

Phil you beat me to it

I'm having trouble locating tools for download that will split an 8-bit image into 2 4-bit ones.

Could write your own in about a dozen lines of C ;)

A little more than that if you do error checking, etc.

I'd just post the code, but, of course, this shitty fucking site won't let you enter source code without spewing:

Code:
You don't have permission to access /newreply.php on this server.

I've got little boards to replace the non-JEDEC 2k proms on Sprint (and some other Atari boards) with 2716s.

Really cheap if you build them yourself so I don't have to :)

That sounds great. I have a Canyon Bomber and a Super Bug of my own that could benefit from it too.

The code has been on my website for about a decade, but thanks for that completely useless reply.

I have been trying to run the above C program but have so far failed. I'm not much of a programmer and I not to familiar with C. Can one of you smart guys have a look at it, figure it out and let me know what I need to do? I tried to split the 8 bit file below in to 2 4 bit images. One that will connect to data lines D0-D3 and the other to connect to D4-D7 on a sprint 2. I had to change the extension to txt to upload the file but it is a bin file

thanks
Matt
