It sure sounded like a question.

I've never seen Crater Raider. Did you play it? What is it like?

K
Crater Raider is actually a fun game, but very uncommon. I haven't played once since it came out all those years ago. :(

Where in the wild are those (not exact location, just type)? It looks like a living room with the tables. :)

yeah I didnt have time to play it - but it looked like it was in AMAZING condition.
These were at a supper club type place... asked the owner about who's games they were and he said a buddy of his and told me that he has a whole bunch of games like this...
I asked if he is willing to sell them and he said - oh im sure - he sells stuff all the time on the internet... so who knows - game me his number I will call him today.

What the heck is a supper club???

Hahaha, it's a Wisconsin thing. A lot of them are actually found outside of the cities... so a town of like 500 people might have a supper club. A place where, traditionally, people could go to spend an entire evening starting with some drinks, have dinner, then more drinking because th club would have some sort of entertainment. Some still follow this procedure but many are now just restaurants with a bar.

what can I say - I live in Wisconsin afterall... quite different than when I lived in Honolulu... but then again if I still lived there I surely would have a much harder time with this hobby.

most successful supper clubs have been around for decades and exist due to really good food. i love 'em. theres one a couple miles out of town here with a ms pac, operation thunderbolt and a few others that are kept operating in top condition.

just got off the phone with the guy that owns them - said he bought the Crater raider new back in the day. Asked me if I wanted to buy it. Also told me he has TONS of stuff from that era stashed away in several different locations... Said he would take some pictures and email them to me with a list of what he had... could be interesting...

sweet man, with this hookup you might finally reach 80 games :001_ssuprised:

with as many games as you own what is out their left that you are looking for?

I think it is really just a rural thing. I ate at one in California. I think they called it a dinner hall out there, but the concept was the same. The town had less than 200 if I recall correctly.

found out theres a laundromat about an hour away with a buncha classic arcade games and pins, took a ride up there today. galaga, 2 ms pac mans, raiden 1 and 2, sunset riders, centipede, arkanoid, turbo outrun, neo geo with metal slug and aero fighters, star wars and twilight zone pins, and a bunch more! they even have a snack bar with nachos and pizza. thinking i'll probably head up there once a month or so and brush up on my "in the wild" video gaming skillz...
