Yea Yea, its been out for quite some time now. But finally got around to getting my hands on a copy of it. For some reason it never came out in any of the stores around the area. Anyways, i dont understand the bad reviews for this game. I found it to be pretty damn good. Hell, just the shit the mask would say to you had me laughing throughout the game. Being able to unlock the classics was a nice touch as well. I have the Arcade Machine of the original and just cant seem to be able to play it with a controller. :D Beat the game 100% with everything unlocked. Sure hope they make a Sequel. :(

They probably won't from what I've read on the Splatterhouse homepage combined with low sales numbers. This was a release for the fans, I finally found a copy I could afford during black Friday sales and I look forward to playing it.

Look around for the pre-order mask statue, it's a neat extra for fans of the series.

Since I'm not above whoring out my own thread:

A thread on the terror mask pre-order, worth a read for the mario pic alone:

The Mask is pretty slick, I'll have to keep my eye out for one. I'm sure this game will get a Sequel in due time. There have been plenty of games out there that had poor sales but got sequels to them. Dead Space comes to mind. Never understood the bad reviews of this game. Just goes to show that most reviewers are morons which is why I never go by reviews whether its about a game or a movie. Unlesss its a Mario, Zelda, CoD, Madden or any other game that churns out sequel after Sequel its not going to get a really good review.

I liked the game at first then the frustration began. I'm still a fan of the originals though.

I would kill for that machine!!! I have the all 3 plus the famicom one. The recent one was pretty bad though. If you get bored of that machine I have plenty of machines for trade ;)

Took this pic with the flash on. Werid how it turned out.

I can't stop looking at that Big Blue cabinet you have there...

Lol...Here I am all happy about my Mask and you guys are talking about the game in the background. Just had the monitor capped on it. Not a scratch on it. I wish I would have took pics of the power supply before I cleaned it out. Had about two pounds of dirt in it and the fan was froze up. Surprised it never caught fire.

Ugh.....Didn't realize how crappy the pics looked without the flash on. Here is one with the flash on.

Awesome. Sorry to derail a bit there :) This reminds me that I need to go change the batteries out on my CPS II games...it's been a couple of years by now.

I was given an Xbox360 at xmas, and will have to check this game out, so you can unlock the original arcade games right?

Yup, the originals are all unlockable. The new game is a lot of fun but its kinda short.

BTW, some of the crap the game says to you when you die cracks me the hell up.

I liked the game. The dialogue was funny, lots of gore and I liked how it would occasionally go back to 2D (side scroll). I still love side scroll games (see castlevania).
The one issue I did have was that they made it too much like a comic book. It would have been so much better looking more realistic.

I actually hated the 2D parts myself. Some of the Splatterkills were.....Interesting. Pulling the guts out of the one monster through his ass was a new one. And the whole time you are arguing with the mask throughout the game is just too damn funny.

huge fan of the original games, and I kinda had to force myself to like the new one.

the whole game design was just terrible, especially rick and the mask. it's like, the early 2000s are over guys and limp bizkit isn't cool anymore. just the whole aesthetic was juvenile and uncreative.

The original splatterhouse games were gothic, scary, splatter fun. the new one is like an amalgam of stuff a 12 year old would think is cool, all gore and potty humor that ends up being empty and dumb.

I guess I'm 12 then. I loved everything about the game. (Except the 2D parts) It was all over the top gore and humor. Naked pictures of the girl-friend, using the F-bomb non-stop, music fit the game just fine, works for me. I'm glad they didn't do like a lot of games and remix the original soundtrack 20 times over. (I'm looking at you Castlevania) I didn't know any of the bands behind the music in this game, but found some of the songs quite good.

Agreed. That was my problem... Chain Wallet?? Come on. Limp Bizkit style all the way. It should have looked more realistic and scary. Loved the dialogue, but hated the "street fighter Limp Bizkit" style graphics.
