Splatterhouse "Key" PRG F10 27c512 dump? Namco System 1 PCB.

I am trying different things with my broken Namco System 1 PCB. So far I have found three replacement CPUs and created a new EPROM set for Splatterhouse. I am missing one file that is mentioned in the MAWS documentation. Where can I find the program "key" file for location F10?

From the MAWS page:
"PRG F10 27512 Custom-181 3000 [ Key Custom ]

- Key Custom data has been mapped out for a 27512 ROM
to simplify its' replacement"

Afraid that you won't find such a file - it's a custom chip used for protection purposes.

However, all is not lost - JROK very kindly created some patched code for many of the Namco System 1 games which means that the custom at F10 is no longer needed. It means you'll have to reprogram one or two EPROMs, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Here's the files:

For Splatterhouse you'll need

splattrp.zip

and I THINK that's for the Japanese version of the game, so make sure you have the correct version of the code, ie the Japanese version differs from the World version by using different binaries for PRG5, PRG6, PRG7 (although PROG6 and PRG7 are patched in the above .zip file, so you only need to use the original PRG5).

Here's the info on MAWS for the Japanese version:

Wow, I never knew! Cool, I'll get to work tonight, I'll need help tackling the reset loop it is in, but that is for another post.
