Some Splatterhouse nut on here has to know this...

Has anyone ever seen the Splatterhouse 2 Genesis cartridge that is PURPLE? It has no logo on it either. Just purple with artwork from the game.
I know it isn't a "modern copy" because I purchased back in the 90's. I'm trying to figure out WHAT THE HELL it is, but have found nothing online for it.

Plays just like the regular version on Genesis. The regular cart is a NAMCO and is black with a blue label and artwork. Mine is just purple with only artwork and no logo.

Anyone have knowledge?

Looks like a pirate to me, but I'm not as up on Sega as I am Nintendo stuff.

I know that many Nintendo pirates (even 'vintage' ones) use off color carts and generic game images on them.

I spent some time online looking for anyone talking about this, or any purple carts and found nothing. Probably just a bootleg. Still pretty cool.

I know, I can't find anything on it. But I purchased it back in the mid 90's. I've been looking for a box for it, and realized that it might not exist.
There is a guy who has a Splatterhouse fan site. I'm going to email him and see if he knows.

Weird, but the thing looks professionally done. I've seen knockoff carts of other games before, and this looks way better than I have seen. The back doesn't say "caution" it says "Cautio". Weird...

All sega games that I have seen that are legit seem to have the company logos on them. All the bootleg carts I have seen usually just have some game art pic on it from that era especially the famicom ones.

Yeah looks like a bootleg still awesome, cuz Splatterhouse 2 is awesome! :) Great piece! Bootleg or not, way better condition than mine. xD Your label looks way more bitchin' than mine man, so rad. :)

Yeah, I'm still going to buy a boxed "regular" copy of SH2. I've been going back and picking up retro games and starting my collection over.... groan... at least it's a bit cheaper than arcades.

Just a china knock off..looks cool though, I ran into a few carts like that, with off size original art. Ive seen that purple on other boots for other systems, just not a splatter cart..cool find.

Sweet yeah I had to do that a few years ago, was a bit of a bitch. :( What all are you going to be collecting, just Genesis?

Going after NES, SNES, Genesis and a few others like Master System or Atari.
Just depends. Id love them in original boxes but it doesnt happen for all of them...plus it gets expensive! The one I really want but is so much is Dracula X for SNES. Funny cus I used to own it and it was only $50 brand new! Lol! Sigh...

Nice that's a good breadth of consoles to collect. :) Yeah I know how you feel after I sold/traded my games I was then compelled to buy them all over again because I regretted it. :( Usually not as cheap or nice as I originally had them either.

Yep, that's a bootleg. Not a bad looking bootleg, mind you, but a bootleg nonetheless. Kinda neat looking.

I've seen other MD/Gen bootlegs that have that notch in the side of the cart.
