Spider Man Pinball -impressions, owners?

SM has consistent fast flow to it. If this is one thing you don't like on a pin then don't buy SM. Otherwise the audio package is excellent, the DMD animations and so forth were also well done. A big bonus is no one is screaming about it needing a software update due to bugs/issues.
SM is a solid machine all the way around. Not really anything bad can be said it about it IMHO.

Trust me, "they" were screaming about the rules for years. At least its now fully polished.

Yup, if anyone's got a Spidey - make sure it's got 2.4 or 2.5 code running on it! Stern hasn't released 2.5 on their website, but the newest run came w/ it. I installed it on my machine - honestly I haven't noticed any differences, but it can't hurt to have the newest code.

NIB pin....between Ironman and Spiderman....ha ha! I think you made your first mistake!

Wait what...PINBALL!?!?! You weren't talking about this!?

Awesome!

Let her play the first game! Trust me, it goes a long way toward making pin purchases more palatable by the wife.

Features, rules, toys, art, dots, everything aside... Some pins just have that high fun factor. Hitting the ramps just feels good, hitting the doc oc shot just feels good. Skip all the animations and it's a crazy machine. The machine is just fun. Sometimes machines look great on paper, or should be more fun than they are, but SM is the real deal.

And yah, all the other stuff is great too :).

Just caught this thread (a bit late :)).

I am pretty fickle with my games. I have been through 10 pins in the last year. The games that stay? IM and SM (and if it came down to it, SM over IM but barely). And bringing back a TZ - only game i dropped and wanted it back (but i have to wait as its going to HEP :) ).

I will never forget when i first saw SM. I wasnt yet collecting either vids or pins. It was in Universal studios, florida. The arcade by the Spiderman ride. In the back, all alone in a small room, there was a SM pin. I took notice, and walked over to some kid playing. All i remember is the look on his face - a sh*t eating grin - (around 15 or so). He couldnt take his eyes off the playfield - i think he was in Multiball. All he kept saying was "this game is awesome".

I didnt think too much about it - but that incident had an impression on me (always stayed in my mind). I didnt consider getting one until RGP (I am AFM_TZ over there) was raving about it. So i decided to try and - and happy i did. At first i thought of selling it! But held on and got to Battle royale - best mini wizard mode on any game ive played.

Zutton - congrats and let me know when you get it - looking forward to helping set it up 100%!

Congrats on your purchase. SM is the better pin IMO. If I could only have two pins, it would be LOTR and SM. If it didn't cost me about $750 to ship a pin to Anchorage, I would own one already. I will have to wait a few years and get one when I move back to the lower 48.

I had some serious second thoughts but I'm glad I went through with it. I have a shaker motor coming with it. I'm also going to get a few items suggested to protect the sandman plastic etc.

Don't laugh too much at my logic but.. I'm hoping that by unpacking, adding extras, doing all the checks suggested in the stern videos etc will help me have some frame of reference in the future when I buy a non working pin and try to restore it.

Congrats on the pickup. For the sandman plastic protection - consider the Pinball life repro sandman plastic - made from plastic that wont crack.

My Spiderman was routed and saw LOTS of play and the Sandman plastic is fully intact. I bought the protectors that Pinbits sells and I have not had an issue.
