OK. I was reading the cap kit thread the other day and saw a correction to a post about a cap that was put in a kit by the op that was not a HF (high frequency) cap for a certain monitor and at a certain location for that monitor. It got me to thinking. I usually buy my caps from someone like moser and might not be getting the right spec caps for my monitors.

Are there any hard and fast rules that certain caps in a monitor need to be high frequency? I usually buy all high temp caps if I can, but what about all the other types?

Low ESR, Low Impeadance, Low Leakage, High Frequency, General Purpose...........

Help educate me so that my monitors can get the right caps.

I have yet to cap a monitor that didn't work because I didn't use an HF, low-esr, etc cap. Even putting an 85 cap in place of a 105 doesn't always cause immediate issues - if ever...
