Hey all i have a pinball machine that is kicking my BUTT. I got it as a throw in not working in a arcade machine deal and wanted to give a shot to see if i can fix it. Got 90% of it working ( all lights work, flippers work, ball return and sound works) But the bumpers wont work. On power up i get the 9 flashes so it appears that the main board is ok. all fuses checked ok and replaced 1. They have roughly 37 volts at each terminal so im assuming the board ground sides em. Its taking up valuable space that i dont wanna give up on this after soo many hours, and getting so close that it actually plays. Im able to acces the menu from the keypad and got it to go freeplay. So PLEASE help me , or im gonna just sell it as is and be done with it.

Which "bumpers" are you talking about? The pop bumpers or the slingshot (side kicker) ?

Do those coils fire in the self-test mode? If so, then you have switch matrix problems. If not, then you could have a broken coil feeder wire from another coil on the same line, or possibly bad components on the MPU board, or bad connectors on the MPU board.

both... pop up bumpers and side bumpers next to flippers. they don not actuate in self test

The test mode for testing switches. You need to see if the pop bumper switches are detected during switch test.

only the switches that were stuck open appear in switch test, that is correct right ?

When you close a particular switch, that particular switch number will show on the display. It's in the manuals.
