Hi!

I have a Bally Special Force in not very good condition. When I
turn on the game, the fuse in the house blows. I've checked the
cable from the wall to the varistor, all good. The turn-on switch
is good too, and so is the aux socket in the cabinet.

The only thing I can think of(!) would be the EMI filter. Does this
sound like something that can blow the fuse?

Suggestions are very welcome :)

Thanks!

Check to make sure the wires in the AC line plug are on the right lugs.

I have seen a game where someone replaced/repaired the plug and got the hot and ground wires mixed up. Popped the breaker immediately.

Should be Hot/Black to Gold, Neutral/White to Silver, Green/Ground to Green.

it can be line filter, varistor, just anything between the wall plug and the transformer - good thing is you can just bypass most of these things so it's easy to test if they're the culprit.

did you get it like that or did it work before ?
