Ive always wondered how much games actually weight. What are the approximate weights of a plywood cabinet such as Bally/Midway or Nintendo etc, and a particleboard cabinet like Atari?

I know Atari cabs are beasts...some of the heaviest arcade cabs I've dealt with...try taking one of those suckers down a set of stairs by yourself...

On one occasion while my girlfriend was out of town and I was moving some atari cabs the thought ran through my head that if this cab fell on me I might not be found for days...:D

Yes you guys are all right on the money most of the games I've shipped over the year on a pallet averaged 245 pounds for a 19" monitor cab and about 295 for a 25" monitor. Figure a pine pallet is about 40 LBS

I've notice now days that I'll take the lighter cabs in a group before the big beasts like Atari's and sega's. The legs aren't what they use to be anymore.

Nothing like lifting a Atari cab that's been sitting in a pond in some remote barn. Gotta be my least favorite cabs to move around.

approx. weights here http://ggdb.com/

Hmmmm

According to this, Outrun is 771 pounds. That's a bitch to move but I don't think it weighs that much. Makes one wonder how many other mistakes are on there.

I hate moving Paperboy. That's the most solid friggin machine. MY DL2 & Smash TV aren't as hard to move as that one, and they HAVE to weigh more.

I just moved a mortal Kombat II...

God that thing is unwieldy at 400lbs... I had no Idea.

Much heavier than my 25" dynamo

Mortal kombat/killer instincts are heavy bitches.
I had a manxx TT superbike that probably came in close to 1k pounds. Luckily it seperated into three sections pretty easy.
