As you can see in the picture below, the speaker grill on my Donkey Kong Junior has some nicks in it. I'm not sure why, but this bugs me more than most of the other cosmetic issues the cabinet has.

What would you use to fill in these nicks in the grill, wood filler or bondo? I plan on using bondo for the more major repairs I'll need at the corners of the cab. I was just wondering if wood filler would suffice for these smaller problems. Also note, that the cabinet resides in my dining room and this is where the repair will take place.

If wood filler, what specific brand would you use? I live near a Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace Hardware, so recommendations from those would be nice.

Thanks,
Paul

I used bondo to fix the nicks in mine.
Remove the speaker grill first so you can sand it easier.
What ever you use it is going to make a dust mess.
If you go slow and use a vacuum it might keep the mess to a minimum.
I also taped it off after painting and cut the holes out and painted the inside edges black, with a brush then removed the tape.
I think it looks a lot better than bare wood.

Wood filler is typically not strong enough ... its usually just a step or two above drywall compound. I would use bondo.
