I just replaced the horizontal width coil in my G07. It hadn't been hooked up to a game for several months. The screen looks great, but I'm getting blue, vein-like sparks intermittently from under the 2nd anode suction cap. I'm sure the two prongs are in the tube hole.

Maybe one of the prongs is not making contact? Or is there some sort of seal I need to put on the tube around the suction cup?

Double check that the two prongs are in there good, but I had seen this before on a millipede that was "moist" The cab wasnt wet, but the day I did my testing it was awful moist outside. Humidity made it happen, along with dust on the tube.

Anything metal running near the anode cap? On my WG4600 I had the grounding spring crossing within an inch of the edge of the anode cap and was getting sparks arcing over to that. I just redirected where the spring was attached to move it away from the anode cap and the sparks stopped.

This can happen when there's dust between the anode and the aquadag.

Usually, if it's been like this for a while the sparks will create little depressions in the glass that will gather more dust making the problem gradually worse.

What we used to do was clean the glass between the anode and the aquadag, then go over it with some abrasive polish (Used to use brasso, which is a polish for brass), until all the hairline troughs are flattened out.

Don't forget to discharge the tube first of course (I won't make THAT mistake again).

Yeah, it is pretty dusty. I'll give it a good cleaning with some alcohol and apply some dielectric grease at the edges of the suction cup just for good measure.
