I have a Space Zap game that is currently dead. When it is powered up, the screen has nothing on it except you can see a very, very faint snow pattern on it. The test switch makes no difference to help me out. The boardset is VERY similar to Gorf with 4 of the boards being shared (of the 5 in Space Zap and 6 in Gorf) so I have narrowed the issue down to the Space Zap Game board. All 4 RAM chips on the board are good (verified in another game) and the custom I/O chip was also swapped with a known good. What's my next step? I would like to verify that the PROMs are good (I have the 4K set not the 2K set), but am unsure how (if I can) put them in my EPROM burner to at least verify them. Suggestions on that too?

Those caged sets are a double edged sword, near impossible to probe when assembled but they do offer component like swapping if you have a working set to test against.

It sounds like you've run the boards you can in GORF, how about the power supply in Space Zap? Have you tested it completely?

I rebuilt the power board and tested the voltages as soon as he had the problem, all voltages are good.
