Space Wars - Need Repair Help / Advice / Parts

I've got a Cinematronics Space War game that I'm trying to get running and eventually restore.

This appears to be an early machine as there is no LED on the CCPU board and it has the micro power brand power supply.

When I received it, it had neck glow and "white noise" coming from the speaker. While "working" on it, I've managed to degrade its condition, now it blows the "line" fuse in the power supply even with no boards connected :-(

I'm in the San Francisco Bay area and hoping there is someone local that can help me get this going, but willing to ship the boards for repair / reconditioning.

Please let me know if you have anything you would like to part with, tips, info or repair contacts that can help me get it up and running!

Thank you,
Ted

Can't help, but definitely want to watch what transpires... I have one, and Phetishboy has one, I'm not sure who/if anyone else on here does...? I'm very happy mine still works.

The side art on yours is beautiful, BTW!

power supply schematic?

Anyone have the schematic for the Micro Power A10 power supply? Mine blowing the "line" fuse in the power supply even with no boards connected :-(

I don't think is has a diode bridge rectifier but it does have a hand soldered diode bridge. Can the diodes be tested in place or do I have to remvoe them one at a time and test them?

Hoping to finds someone in the San Francisco bay area that know about this type of machine and is available to fix it.

Thank you

Is the bridge a half wave or full wave? Either way you should be able to test the diodes in place just like testing a BR. If your test results are confusing then desolder one leg, just as you would do on any other component and then retest.

Bad Arse! That looks cool as HAIL!

PS & Video Board Photos

Here are photos of the power supply and video board, I've but red boxes around components that have fried.

Thank you

bit hard to tell much from the photos as they are low res.
but rectifier diodes are dirt cheap - just replace em!
might be worth replacing the cap next to those as well.

Thank you

give that chassis a really good clean to remove all dirt and debris so the pcb is nice and squeaky clean, both sides, then replace the rusty lookin caps

if the dirt has any salts or other conductive material it will affect the operation of the circuit. dont forget the clean under/around the ics!

Thank you for the tips!

Replaced the diodes that I think made up the bridge and also repalced the power transistors and I've got power coming out again.

Still hoping someone has the wiring diagram out there for this PS.
