Now this wasn't a full resto, but pretty damn near. It took me longer than most for various reasons, not the least of which is that the cabinet is huge and heavy. It came to me from Kansas with a huge chunk missing from the front corner:

A little bondo:

And things were starting to shape up. After sanding, we were onto priming and painting.

A little paint and it's starting to look better:

Now to add a finish coat of white, mask off the blue at the bottom, remove the blue mask, mask off the white and paint the blue, cut a t-molding channel and add t-molding:

The front toe kick was pretty F'ed:

A little glue/clamping/bondo and paint, and she looks good as new:

The only thing I can see myself doing is maybe getting new side decals printed at some point, as these have several scars and the paint I used at the bottom was a darker blue than my sample would have led me to believe. Otherwise, I am happy with the way it turned out. Finished Pics:

And just so you know, I used masking tape and an exacto and masked off and painted every stinking white letter on this side, as the decal was pretty f'ed in the white areas:

I almost forgot the rest of the list. The metal brackets, bezel and marquee, were pretty rusty but straight as an arrow.

Rather than have them sandblasted and powder coated, I used 120 grit paper on my orbital to take them down to bare metal, primed them with automotive primer and gave them 3 light even coats of Rustoleum satin black. I only have a close up pic of the primer:

But suffice it to say they look better than new now, with the proper sheen.

The buttons were also all completely cleaned as was the inside of the cabinet. I added new feet with teflon glides to the bottom and polished the black laminate on the kickplate and cp with Armor-all to give it a new black sparkle.

Hey thanks Greg. You snuck that one in on me. You probably coulda done better, but I do the best with what I have.

Ha, Sorry man, I shoulda waited for the final pics (money shot). No way I coulda done better than that. It looks mint to me! I have a buddy that has two of these, (different manufacturers) that he has been trying to sell me. I'd love to have one but I literally have no space. Awesome game for sure.

I only have this version for Nostalgia reasons. It's one of the first arcade games I ever played. If I had to choose one without that being a factor, I'd go Vectorbeam all the way. Cooler looking and a hell of a lot smaller. This Cini version is definitely a museum piece though, and I am proud to have it.

Very nice- as usual. Damn, I wish I had the patience to fix even the little stuff like you. Yes, I would've fixed the big chunk but I probably would've left the other corner and front kick panel alone. I just realized that I'm a goddamn slacker and you sir, are not.

Bah, I slack too. I just wanted it finished right. Nit-picking the little details is what makes these projects take so damn long to finish though, and sometimes I hate that fact.

Wow! Amazing. really well done, this was the 1st video game i remember seeing as a kid. Brings back memories.
