My space shuttle coins up but does not eject the ball.
Why?
MPU board or solenoid bad?

I did have solinoid fuse changed from 2.5amp to 4amp on power supply pcb behind glass when this happened a month ago.

Go through the solenoid tests and while you are at it, the switch tests to see what you can find out before digging in too deep, could be something simple.

I have a Comet machine, System 9, but I can help... The outhole is controlled by the F2 fuse, which is the main one for the solenoids...F2 should be a 2.5 SB fuse....Are the pops working at all? Don't worry about the slings or flippers; their specially controlled...

There could be three reasons

1. Not all the balls are installed
2. Trough switch problem
3. Solenoid voltage problem (maybe blown fuse).

Of course there could be other causes but I would check those things first. Are the other solenoids working? Are the trough switches working?

It was the solenoid F2 fuse that blew again. It took a month before it blew this time.
Why does this happen?
I put it into solenoid test. What am I looking for it to do?
Game works after putting new fuse in.
Will the board fry with a 4amp fuse in the F2?
A friend said the 5V are good. Ripple is good and volts on solenoid are good.
Any suggestions would be helpfull.

There is a coin lockout coil on that coin door too... It's useless disable it! Could be your problem; had the same issue with my Comet....

If you're blowing fuses you fix the problem by finding it. You don't fix it by putting a larger fuse in there and risking serious damage to your boards. It's a lot cheaper to buy fuses than boards.

Have you checked your connectors? Sometimes loose connectors can cause the fuses to blow.
