Space Mountain Coaster/ Starport/ Tomorrowland Arcade

Is there a cooler space-themed place or ambience in Orlando? Waiting in line and exiting are almost as much fun as riding the coaster. What a sweet place. The arcade is still there. It's obviously been Upgraded to include redemptions and sit down drivers, but at least they slipped some classics in the form of throwback multis in th mix. Man I wish I coulda seen this place 25 years ago:

If you are thinking about doing long runs of neon hit me up. I have some power supplies I took out of a place a few years ago that you can have.

Man, that looks pretty cool. I visited the one at Disneyland about 6 months ago only to find that it was a hollow shell of it's former self. It honestly used to be my favorite thing about D-land when I was a wee lad. One of my best memories is going in there and seeing like 20 Trons in a row and a long line on each of them. Then hearing my dad yell at me, something about why would I want to waste my time at Disneyland playing arcade games... I miss that place man, the atmosphere was so awesome.

Love space mountain. I haven't been to the one in orlando since they upgraded it. I'm hoping that they didn't take away from the coolness of the place.

I have a mame cabinet and during the game selection menu my audio is the queue line com-chatter from space mountain with the cool space sounds etc. Sometimes I just let it sit on the menu just to listen to it.

The arcade at the exit of the Orlando Space Mountain has been pretty cool for quite some time. Unfortunately, when I went to Disneyland last October, the ENTIRE upstairs portion (which was the MAJORITY) of the arcade had been closed off. The sad thing is, I could see through the glass that they had suspended a full size X-wing ship from the ceiling up there. I asked around, and someone told me that they had closed it off a while back. All that is left now is roughly 20 to 25 percent the size of the Orlando arcade. Pretty lame. All that it had was a Guitar Hero arcade machine, some Mario Kart cabinets and a few other "late model" games. Nothing to write home about.

If you are in Orlando and want to go to a really cool arcade, check out DisneyQuest in the downtown disney area. It has LOTS more classics and a TON of cool games. Much more than the Space Mountain arcade. At least that is how it was the last time I went a number of years ago. It DOES cost money to enter, but the last time I was there, everything was set to free play. So, your admission cost covers all the play you can stand...

I love Disney World and Space Mountain. Even 5-10 years ago they had an awesome arcade in/next to Space Mountain. I remember playing awesome games like Ferrari F355 Challenge when they came out. In fact, I was there for my sister's dance competition once and they set the entire arcade on free play!

So I'm guessing there's at least part of it still there, I really need to go back to Disney World and go to Disneyquest like I never got to back in the day.
