Good afternoon,

I know someone selling a really nice and clean Space Invaders.

Issue: Powers up then screen shrinks to tiny dot?? Easy fix?

Worth?? Asking 275.00 I think 275 is very high not working

Was thinking on buying it???

Thanks

Seems a little high for a non working. I picked up mine for $100 non-working. Screen was all garbage. I got lucky since it only needed to have the power supply rebuilt. Simple cap kit from Bob Roberts and she was up and running fine. I wouldn't go any more than $100.00.

Fixing the monitor shouldn't be too hard.

$275 seems high, especially for a Space Invaders - unless it's in exceptionally great condition. Cosmetics (paint, wood, control panel, etc) are a lot harder to repair than the monitor.

As for the monitor, does it power up full screen, then gradually shrink down, or does it never display a full image (only a dot)? The dot indicates that the HV is working, but the deflection circuits are not. If you only get a dot, and nothing more, it could be as simple as the yoke not being connected, or it could be something more serious. But at least the flyback is working, and the monitor is present (pretty common to find games with the monitor missing all together).
