Is it possible to test a SI boardset on the bench? I have a semi-working boardset but have since sold my machine so I don't have a way to test after repair. TIA

Yes you can test it on the bench, I did it a while ago.

If I remember correctly you need all voltages connected, or atleast +5 and +12.

There is a power-on-reset pin you have to ground to make the game boot.

I used alligator clips to a switcher.

I finally had a chance to make a setup. It's working, just have to dial in the power and add a speaker.

A friend of mine just fixed one for me. According to him you have to have the -5volts as well. If you don't, I think he said you would kill the video ram as they're very picky chips. However, do as you like. This is second hand info. But he did repair this one for me.
