Ive had this one on the back burner for over a year now, just one of those jobs I never have time to get to. Well, its in the middle of the shop now, so I either got to work on it or walk around it:rolleyes:

Bought this complete (less mpu) game last year for around $75, for parts. When I got a close look at it I saw that it was rock solid, what looked like wear on the cab and playfield was all just delamination, wood for the most part was perfect. I say for the most part, I did have to replace the back of the backbox.

About a month ago I stripped it down, sanded it down to the bare wood and did what little bodywork it needed, then took it to a friends bodyshop and applied about 10 coats of automotive paint.

I put the stencils on Sat and shot the black yesterday. Ill let it set a few more days then do the red stencils

stencils had several spot where either a section wasnt cut out, or was missing altogether. Of course, with a set this elaborate, it was hard to tell until the paint was on:rolleyes: Most noticable was the missing black between the A and C in Space, easily repaired by tracing the other side on a piece of the clear mask the stencils were attached to, cutting out the missing section and using it as a stencil.

The red is really making this pop out!

Love the progress.

Any updated pictures? I'm going to be doing this to mine as soon as I can find some stencils.

Any hints or things to look out for on this pin?

You have been doing a great job on this. Missed out on a couple of SI the last few years. That would be so cool at Gamewarp.

I dont know if this one will make Gamewarp or not (this year anyway). Got a couple other games Im getting ready for Gamewarp, so my times pretty divided right now.
Cabinet paint is finished and clearcoated with automotive clear, Ive got the playfield sanded smooth with 2 coats of clear on it prepping for the overlay, just having a hell of a time getting the clear to cure properly with the humidity.

For the record, we recieved, at my house, 31 inches of rain between this past Friday night and Tuesday morning. Add to that the 20+ inches we got a couple weeks ago, and we have recieved over 4 foot of rain this month. No wonder I cant get clear to dry:eek:
