It was a battle, fixed previous fixes, coils, sockets, transistors, you name it.
Been back and forth between under the playfield and the backbox too many times.

Never could find a playfield overlay(edit-found one, installing now, see pages 2-3), but all else is perfect, and I think it looks nice.

Ended up restenciling the cabinet, but instead of the standard grey, black, and red, I used high gloss, and used metallic silver for the grey. It looks really nice in real life. I also painted the side rails, and coindoor black, which I like the look better. I know its not original, but this one is a keeper, and I think the black looks great.
I got the stencils from This Old Game, and they worked great. Technically the backbox stencils were labeled wrong, but they resent me the correct ones at no charge, and with no hasell. They are wonderful to work with. I will someday find a playfield overlay, and it should be perfect then.

Ended up with new plastics, rubbers, bumper caps, flipper bats, all bulbs, maybe 10 light sockets, new legs, locks, new leg bolts, most everything available for Space Invaders.

Every restoration is a battle, but this one really fought me.

I think it looks great! I don't know if I would have re-stenciled the entire thing, but it sure does look amazing. Any shots of the playfield?

Great job! I dont know about the black rails, I think it may make it too dark? The coin door however, I do like. That was the first thng that jumped out at me

What a showpiece! This restore looks fantastic! SI is one of my all time fav pins, so I enjoy seeing what you did to bring it new life. Thanks for sharing!

Well, got the Mikes Arcade playfield overlay awhile ago, but have finally dove into it.

I made a paper template of where all the holes are, in hopes of using it to re find all the holes once the overlay is down
