Ok, I finally got my playfield ready to apply the overlay, sanded smooth, sunken inserts filled, multiply coats of clear sanded down, ect, but then decided that Id rather not do the actual application myself. Theres a shop a couple miles from my house, that tints auto windows, and prints thier own designs, including those decorator window graphics you see in pickup back windows and full body graphics for autos, so I figured they do this every day, so they can do this one too!
While talking to him about putting it down, I asked him if he could reproduce the overlay, he immediately said it would be no problem to do a high res reproduction, hes going to go ahead and scan it into his system so he can save the file (I doublechecked to make sure the file was saved, so I can reorder). I went ahead and ordered one, so I can see how it turns out
. Unfortunately it wont be ready until Wednesday and Ill be on my way north that day, so I wont be able to see it until I get back.
He said he was going to print it on 4 mil thick 3M brand Controltac vinyl. I asked him if it was tough stuff, and he said it was about the toughest stuff he carried, its what they print the vinyl car wraps out of and they have a 10 year warranty
price is looking to be in the $90 area, Ill know more when I get back
