I guess this is just a rant-
I went to test out my handiwork on a couple of Space Invaders boards yesterday. I had replaced all the RAM sockets.
Alas- I left the new RAM chips at home...
But- I had a SI multigame that I picked up a couple weeks ago. I figure I could see what it does testing against some of the old RAM chips.
Hook it up- 1st board- just a blank display. Maybe there's more issues here than can be judged with the multiboard test.
Go pull the multigame out of the socket to throw into a 2nd board- ARRRGH- too much force- I slip and flatten out most of the pins on one side. One is broken off.
I try to straighten up some of the others and they all fall off in my hand like little teeth or something..
I think I cussed straight for 5 minutes.
I supposed I can remove the socket on the multigame board and replace the little row of header pins, but I don't have any here. Damn.
So close and now back to the drawing board....
Hopefully just a blip.
