Space Invaders - Monitor Replacement with 19 in. Color TV

I recently bought a Space Invaders Midway for $50.00. The monitor was bad because someone had either dropped it while putting it inside the cab or bumped the neck thereby cracking the neck. I am now on the hunt for a replacement tube, and it seems so are quite a lot of other KLOV's too. Shipping seems to be one of most detrimental factors involved. And finding another working monitor will take time and patience.

So in the meantime, I have a SI that is playing blind; it seems everything else is working. I have sounds, the lights on the front are working; the bezel is in good condition, some scratches and paint missing. The control panel has the typical sweaty palm rubbed areas from being played for so many years, all the buttons are working, just need some cleaning. One bonus is that the front of the cab does not have the steel bar mounts and the holes for the mounts. The paint is in good condition. The back panels are there, but as with all particle board backs and lost keys, you will get the pried open areas where the locks are located. The vent holes have the wire covers on the inside, but the particle board cross pieces are broken and missing. These flaws can be fixed in time.

I really wanted to be able to play the game while I was searching for a replacement monitor. So I have been researching the KLOV site for information on how to install a different monitor in the SI cab. I found several posts from people talking about how they installed TV monitors and got them working correctly. But I had a difficult time finding photos on the steps they took to get the TV working and then doing the installation.

I must commend fellow KLOV member Pete Cahill for taking the time and having the patience to guide me in the right direction. I am by no means electrically savvy. And his help was a big determining factor for motivating me to take on the task of installing a TV monitor color tube in my SI.
What I would like to do is show the steps I took in finding the information and show photos of the steps as I progressed.

I watched the video and turned the sound off. I only cut two wires, the red and the blue only.

I read this thread but needed more information with photos

It did take time to do all of the modifications, but well worth the effort to be able to play a
classic that started a world wide craze to play arcade video games.
