Space Invaders monitor overlay

THe orginals were 2 pieces just applied to teh monitor
the green on the bottom was a static cling and the orange was permantly adhered to the top of the monitor.
and mine are the same I have plenty of the translucent orange but need to make some more of the green static cling pieces.

Cool

That would explain why there's still a hunk of the orange overlay (and some adhesive residue) still attached to my monitor :). Anyone have any tips for removing something like that from the front surface of a monitor? I was thinking about maybe warming it up with a blow dryer and then giving it a gentle scrub.

There was one for Space Invaders Deluxe on ebay that JUST ended a few days ago: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPACE-INVAD...242?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d014e76da

I'd try to contact the seller and see if you can work out a deal for it if it didn't sell. I know this is for SID and not SI, but I think the SID version looks better than the original... and you could probably retro-fit it for SI pretty easily..

I think I just used a razor blade on mine.
heating and chemicals may jsut create a bigger mess for you to clean.

I have used lacquer thinner to clean the cr_p off the monitor easily, with no issues. Scraping usually gives you a mess to vacuum up. Also made my own overlays from LEE Filters you can find online.

Do you recall which colors you used? I don't have anything to compare against, so it would be strictly a guess.

Unfortunately I cannot find my notes for the SI. I found them for the Battlezone Filter. I'm still looking, or if somebody local to me has an overlay, that we can compare too, since I have color samples..
