This happened thursday,i can finally laugh about it.
I have been tinkering with my space invaders deluxe boardset for some time,no video output whatsoever. So i'm hooking it up to the RCA jack on my tv for testing. On the tv end i use the RCA jack,on SI end i just stuff the wires into the monitor connection.I stuck them in there and set it down and powered on the game.No picture, thats pretty standard as it hasn't had one yet,but i glanced at the connector and seen that the wires had fallen out.In a rush or stupidity and excitment that there may in fact be a picture if the wires were actually plugged in i killed it.I picked up the connector and held it in my hand different than i held it before, stuffed the wires into what appeared to be the same two pins.WRONG..I'm not sure of i what voltage i sent through the tv,i didn't care to check, but the tv popped loudly and something was bouncing around inside.Girlfriend came from other room to see what the hell that was.In any case, tossed tv in bedroom as it still works for tv,i may fix the rca problem in the future, should be easy look for the exploded thing and replace. But i have been looking for a reason to buy a new tv as i had an old tube type.I landed a 50" plasma and couldnt be happier with it.Part of me wonders if i did it on purpose to justify the expense of a new tv.Of course the downside is,space invaders still has no output, and the tv purchase really sets me back on getting a pin in here.On the bright side,if i suffer from stupidity again, this tv is under warrenty. They will never suspect that someone has fed voltage into the rca inputs to fry it lol.

I've been there and done that, except it was a regular space invaders and an old green&black composite monitor from an old computer.

I know where the video was and where the power was on the socket, but it was late at night and I also had been running the kids that night. So mine comes down to just not paying attention when I let go of the socked and it twisted about 90 degrees.

Killed the little monitor and blew out all of the ram on the SI board.

Learned my lesson on that one. I no longer work late or if I'm worn out from work. Kids are bigger now so I don't have to worry about them being underfoot.

Good luck with it.

That was it exactly,at least thats what i'm thinking.I work outside and the weather just drains all my energy.Such a simple mistake, had i not been worn out from work i may have caught it.I'm glad to hear i'm not the only one lol.
