Picked up a supposedly semi working Space Invaders. 2 coils not working? But havent tested. Needs stencils and some playfield touchup, but rest is great. Backglass perfect. Pics to
Come. Advertised for 900, got it for 550. I feel good about it

Only pic i have tonight, and yes, I was crazy enough to drive it home like that, with the head on. Seller had no keys so i couldnt remove it. I had to look at the alien in my rearview mirror the whole way home!!!!!!

Anybody know where to get stencils for this? Google shows they have been made, but cant find any for sale

I love the sides. I just picked up a trailer from harbor freight and finished most of the construction. I still need to build the sides. I really like the rails you built. I think I"m going to put 1/8" plywood as a liner though so I can haul mulch an dirt also. Not to hijack your thread but I really like the trailer.

Ok, thanks to your replys, and my phone constantly dinging at me that I have email notifications, I decided to go play with it. i put the legs on, drilled the locks, and began inspection. Sure enough, one coil is taken off and in the coinbox( which is there, ill steal that for my restored Paragon, which doesnt have one), and the other burnt looking coil is unhooked, and the wire wingnuted. Reseated all plugs, buzzed out all fuses, visually checked what I could. And that exciting, nervous moment arrived.
so I plugged it in........

Nothing.

so I flipped the power switch.....

ducked down, fire extinguisher in hand.....

and

And

It powered up, coils reset, and it went into attract mode!!!!!!!

i watched for awhile, patting myself on the back, then

Added a credit, and started a game. Seems to be playing, but there is a switch stuck somewhere because the score is skyrocketing, and I know I wasnt playing that good. I lifted the playfield again, but dont see any obvious stuck switches. but Im happy

will havta do a switch test and figure that out, replace the two burnt coils(I think I have at least one that will work), and go shopping.

playfield has some wear, but so far looks to need stencil kit, legs repainted black, new rubbers, plastics flattened, new locks, new leg bolts, all new bulbs, new ball, and a serious clean and wax. It seems to be completely unhacked and original. Tilt mech is present and working as well, and all serial numbers match.

I think I will restore everything except the playfield will havta stay how it is, some wear spots, but should make a nice player machine

I Love my SI! I was never a widebody fan until I played SI. It is one of the most attractive games ever. The backglass makes everyone want to give it a play!

Any pics of the playfield? Curious on how bad the wear is.

It is definetly worn. There is actually an overlay in the middle already on it so middle looks good, but paint spotty everywhere else. Ive email Jeff at Classic Arcades, who supposedly can print an overlay, but havent heard back. I did buy a stencil kit, new plastics, bumper caps, coindoor decal, a few coils, locks, rubbers, acorn nuts, all kinds of stuff. If I can source the overlay, I can restore this to minty. Heres hopin!!!!

Replaced 3 tip102 transistors and game is fully working, just waitin on restore parts. Ill probably post a thread in resto forum with before and afters when done. Wish me luck
