found another 100$ deal, a midway space invaders deluxe for 100$, just wondering if it is worth it, the listing says in average shape and was turning on but doesn't now, i emailed him to see if he had it and for some pics, so would this be worth it, he said more than likely its a power supply issues on his posting, will post pics if he emails me back, a number is also listed i might try calling tomorrow

Not bad, but consider you may have to find a working board.

Working boards go for $100 or more. Repair may cost that too. You can roll the dice with $40 untested ebay boards.

Factor that in and decide if it's worth it.

You may be able to get a Space Invaders multigame kit for $59 that could cure your ills too. Then again, your board might still need repair... :)

Well don't try talking down the price untill you get there. You should get it though. The Space Invaders deluxe has a cool cab. just don't mame it. :)

lmk how it goes.. if the board ends up booting to garbage lmk. i do have a si test rom courtesy of another klover(cant remember your handle sorry) and some nos ram thanks to daviea

roms on loan to parabolic as part of my "space invaders pay it foward program" lol..

if you want it lmk and ill get it back from him.. or have him just ship it direct to you then you could send it back to me..

or if you end up needing a couple ram lmk im sure i could make that happen for you too at next to nothing..(whatever shipping is)

$100 for a nonworking complete dedicated game isn't bad. I would rather it be the original SI, though.

Re:

I think any well known classic game for 100 bucks is a good deal, considering it's complete and not completely waterlogged, but that's me. In this market, I would still feel like I was getting a deal. I've had both SI Deluxe and SI, they are the games that really started the arcade craze or at least helped out.

It all depends if you like the game or not. If it is in decent shape then I think $100 is more than fair. I do recommend the Braze 8 in 1 multigame as well as Elektron Forge for repairs.

Got some good news , I called the guy and he still has it, he said if he was going to restore it the only thing that's in the worse shape is the control panel and he said the cabinet is solid with no water damage and some scratches on the artwork but in great shape for its age and the glass bezel is in perfect shape. Please wish me luck I am taking the guys word for how good of shape its in because he sounded like he knew what he was talking about because he owns a pin shop, I'm driving a hour and half after work today to get it and won't be back home to work on it till next sunday, it will just be carried aroiund in my work van til then, ill be taking pics when I go to pic it up and ill post it around 8 pacific time tonight, the guy sounded like he's going to hold it for me untill I get there , he said he wil for sire hold it if I say I'm driving on my way

The SI multigame kit fixed mine. booting to garbage, put in the multi and it works great... of course YMMV...

Looking forward to seeing pics.

I have a spare power supply from a centipede I don't know if its the same or will work but where can I get the multigame kit and is it plug and play into the si harness

SI uses a unique power supply so I don't think the one out of a centipede would work without some pretty significant modification. TNT Amusements was selling these on eBay for $25 tested working (search for item# 110489525825)

The Multikit plugs directly into the 8080 processor socket, there's instructions here

Thanks ill haft to try it out if mine works it would be nice to have some extra games that wouldn't be out of place in that cab

Complete but non-working - for a classic - a C-note is always a good deal. Surprised you're asking and wasting time quite frankly. It should be in your garage by now.

By the way, offer to go look at it immediately, with a promise of serious interest to buy...then, when you get there offer 80.00, if he gets squirrely....quickly shove the hundred toward him.

I have to agree, even not working as long as it's complete and in relatively good shape, the parts alone should be worth that (not that I'm advocating a part out :p )
I got mine for $60 off of eBay, with nothing to go by but some crappy pics.
