Space Invaders Deluxe w/ 8-1 Multikit Troubles

Hello fellows, I fixed it. I printed out both the pinouts and the dip settings and went home to tackle it. Lo and behold, I got lucky the first time. Dips 5,6 & 7 were off, 8 was on. I reversed those switches and it worked. I have never been happier. Thanks guys. I have a working SI Deluxe with the multi kit, for a grand total of $150 and a little of my precious time. Yeehaw!

Engage.

I have a SI with the 8 in 1 board with these same problems also...

Are you saying that you turned dipswitchs 5, 6, &7 on, and switch 8 off? I don't have the dipswitch setting - what were those switches for?

I'd like to get my two player mode working too!

Thx
Tom

Yes. They are for cocktail/upright mode.

Tried this out yesterday. At first it did not make any difference. Powered it back off, then I moved the switches back and forth a few times and powered it back on.

Two player mode with the multigame now works! This tip did it.

Thanks for posting this.

No problem. Thanks go to the fellas that answered my query in the first place. I played the living shit out of Lunar Rescue last night. What a fun game. The bassy jingle played as the 'rescued' astronaut runs to board your ship on the landing pad is my new favorite arcade sound. I also tried out Galaxy Wars and Space Laser. Space Laser is an interesting concept, and I like the addition of the profile changes of the aliens on Galaxy Wars. Makes it harder to hit them.

That's what it was... I couldn't remember for the life of me why I was thinking it was DIPs. IIRC now, those DIPs connected the P1 to the "P2" inputs... when they're open you HAVE to have the P2 controls hooked up... when they're closed it feeds the P1 inputs to the P2 inputs... ... Ahhhh... glad I wasn't too wrong.
