So, I bought a new machine today. It's a Midway Space Invaders Deluxe Cabinet. I"m planning a complete restoration on this one. (as well as my Asteroids Deluxe Cabinet, Any help on either is appreciated. View the Asteroids issue at http://youtu.be/0kZI1_zmj84.)

On to Space Invaders. I bought this cab with NO control panel. And i figured, since it's hard to find them nowadays (well...within my price range) i could just build one. Would anyone happen to be able to measure the CP for me and give me:

LxW of control panel, and any other wood attached
Pictures to help me on this

I already have a CPO, that was given to me by the guy i bought it from.

On to the next issue. GOt it home and decided to try to boot the thing up (because for some reason, the guy could not tell me one way or the other), and as soon as i switched the thing on, The big transformer on the Monitor chassis arced to something. So obviously no picture, no "chatter", and no tube glow. Anyone know where i can find a monitor/chassis to fit one of these? the one thats in mine is a WG kv700a, but i've read that a Motorola M5000 fits too.

I'm a newbie at cabinets, so take it easy on me. I'll probably be like a small child until i get the hang of things, so i'll probably need some pretty intensive instructions on some things.

So whaddya say, can you help a guy out?

Another question. Should i replace the old PSU in the Space invaders Cab with a newer Happ 120W Switching Power Supply? I've seen that Alex at ElektronForge makes a "Kit" but i hear that it's just "two wires with a couple of plugs" is it really that easy to convert it? how could i do it without his kit?

Okay, On the asteroids machine, The monitor had some SEVERE burn-in. So i decided to do a tube/yoke swap. This was my first one, but i was completely successful. I didn't even shock myself. :D I should be getting a new board in a couple of weeks for it, so hopefully that will fix everything on it.

Bump, since I hope you get this info.
I'm looking at restoring one as well soon and the monitor is cracked, so replacement is going to be needed.
