I just got done sprucing this up for a guy I know and also getting it fully working along with a braze kit. I really didnt think the shape justified doing a full restoration on it. At what point do you decide to fully restore a machine?

It's only original once , I don't restore unless it's pretty far gone

If its a pretty nice looking original game, then there is no need to restore it.
If video games are like every other field of collectibles, then one day there will be a much larger premium on totally original unrestored machines.
The longer the timeline, the fewer all original unrestored games there will be.

This is my bad habit....I tend to be a clean nazi and want all my games almost spotless. Some exceptions....but for the most part I am almost finished restoring most of my games. But at the same time I agree completely on leaving unrestored for value and collectable wise (depending of course on level of damage). I keep trying to stop myself, but when someone comes over and points something out on a game to me......it's now imprinted in me lol.

Ya I tend of FULLY over haul all my games. I agree they are only orginal once. But I look at it as making it viable for 40 more years...
