hey guys... after doing a little hunting around the net i think theres a good chance i have some bad ram on my space invaders board(upright, midway type)

only prob is the numbers arent familiar sounding to me and mouser came up empty handed...
heres the numbers off the ram chips:

D2107c
S6202
(then what i think is the mfg date: 7911)
5c664

can anybody cross these or find em on the net for me?
I would greatly appreciate it!

thanks guys. I wanted to shotgun em all but not at $7 a piece lol...
mabye ill get 4 and see if i get lucky.

DO you think it would be possible to piggyback one pair at a time and try to find the bad rams that way?

Does that Test ROM work in Deluxe Board sets also?

timiskander, made me a test ROM, installed it in "H" position, and nothing ever happens when I turn on the game. I even tried the test ROM in a known working board set and nothing. My Roms are 9316s, is 2716 EPROM correct for that board set?

I take a photo of the straping on the board.

yeah if i had the $$ i would just buy the multikit with test built in but im afraid to dump too much money into this thing untill i know i at least have a repairable boardset...

anybody piggyback these rams? any luck doing it this way?

id try but i want to make sure im not going to fry something else trying it

pulled a ram form a junk board...
piggybacked one at a time... no diff...

even swapped cpus, no diff....

I guess i need to get a couple fresh rams and try again..

god i hate not having money...

7232 or 7216

my board is running 9316b roms...

which of the following test rom will work?

mikebetz is burning me a 7232 but im afraid it wont work....

A 2732 (I assume that's what you meant) is a drop-in replacement for the 9316. The test rom works well for ram errors. Piggybacking all those pins on old chips just never worked for me...

I have a Deluxe boardset that has both 2716 and 9316 Roms in it, which Test rom will I need?

The 2716 with the jumper wire/clipped leg was a factory hack. Midway released a service bulletin about it. It was when they mixed 9316B's and 2716's on one motherboard. If your motherboard is strapped for 9316B's......a 2716 EPROM will not work (unless you restrap the board for 2716's). Might not be a bad idea to re-strap the board for 2716s and have some new ROMs burned. Most of the board sets I've worked on with original 9316Bs......the legs are so brittle and oxidized. Of course, at this point, you could just buy the Braze kit....for probably the same price and eliminate the ROMs (and have a built in RAM/sound test to boot).

Every SI/SID board I get in, I mod for 2764/128... makes them MUCH more reliable... and you should be able to get a test ROM and a single game ROM in either format.

thaank you for the input guys..

so with any luck this test rom will work and tell me the general areas of my failure at least...

i sure hope so anyways lol

I got a test ROM burnt on a 2716 chip and the board did nothing. I going to try a 2732 chip now.

Any luck? I sent off a 2732 to cadillacman today... Hope it helps out, you should send him the 2716 you burned just in case. I was out... :(
