I do try to preserve these machine when I can. This was one I could not save. I had two Space Invaders Uprights with enough parts between them to be one whole machine. The cabinet is just too far gone for my carpentry and paint skills.

Good News: it's free

Bad news: It is in dire shape. I am not able to save this one. I used the parts I could to save Space Invaders #10050 and the scraps are free to anyone who wants them.

More good news: A few good pieces are included, coin door, mechs, marquee braces, coin box, lid, speaker, grill, most of the wire harness, light board for marquee.

More Bad News: It is covered in a tarp in my driveway. Some day soon my wife will demand I hack it up in little bits and haul it to the dump.

For Sale Listing with information and pictures.

"ding-dong" "hello, is space invader home? Can he come out to play?

Sorry, had to reference the fact that theres a doorbell on the front. :)

Lol

Yes, one of the many exotic modifications to our dear friend 8685. Someone thought a doorbell was the perfect way to say FREE CREDIT. They were so sure this would be a hit, they included a NOS (still in plastic) spare doorbell (lying on the bottom of the cabinet).

This pile of parts just keeps giving!

Haha my SI has the classy doorbell mod as well. Looking forward to getting rid of that.

I'm in need of a coin door and bezel so if you end up parting this, I'd definitely be interested.

Bondo, yes, paint, not sure

Bondo is something I would do. Spraying a solid coat I can do. Trying to recreate the sprayed art and speckles, I don't have the talent to do.

I know it looks bad, but if the bottom panel were replaced, the sides filled and stencils applied it could be recovered.

It needs:
Wood Panel for Bottom
Back lower door
lock set
Bondo Hours
Side art stencil set (This Old Game)
Game board
Moon Plexi and Black Light
Control Panel
Power Supply board

I have seen many games with door bells set as the free play button. It must have been common back in the days. Always looks like crap too.

Pulled Back from the Brink

I acquired another Space Invaders (30930) at the VfaD party. So this machine may be hit another time for parts.

Thanks to all for the interest in saving this guy, but it looks like it is fated to save others by repeated donations.
