IMG_3688.jpegIMG_3689.jpegCan someone with an original upright Space Invaders confirm which way the 2 way mirror is supposed to go? There's a fingernail test that you can do. From the front of the machine, if you touch the mirror does you finger reflection touch? And from the back of the machine is there a space between your finger and the reflection? I'm just trying to confirm if mine is correct or backwards. I've always thought my background should be brighter. I have the correct white black light bulb in there. The background effect looks great from behind the machine that's why I'm wondering. I really don't want to risk removing this mirror for nothing. Thanks.

Looks good to me. Your moon is back lit and your cardboard backdrop can be seen.

Thanks. It's a little darker in person than the picture shows but I can't get it any better. New white black light bulb from Arcadeshop, new ballast, new starter. Cleaned both sides of the mirror, the moon, the tube and the bezel. Cleaned the background with a vacuum brush attachment. Also verified there's 120 volts going to the ballast.

I don't remember if it had a way, but being reflective one way and see through the other way makes sense I guess. I just know mine the edges of the glass DESTROYED my hands. lol

the monitor should reflect pretty sharply on it though.

the manual doesn't notate anything about the glass and how it goes in.

The monitor does reflect very sharply. Looking out through the back of the cabinet toward the front, the mirror is very dark and hard to see through. I would think that's correct. Maybe the fluorescent inks of the background are faded. This is probably as good as it gets.
