I've been wanting to do this project since April. This machine was one that came out of the raid that @CharlieG, @64B1T, and @Dillweed did a while back. Normally I wait until I am a bit farther along with this project, but I am just too excited to not talk about it.

The trouble was "where am I gonna get a 16" sega monitor tube" because the original had gotten trashed for it's yoke. Unfortunately I also am going to have to deal with the damaged coin door, missing fancy transformer, and missing harness. The monitor situation has been resolved thanks to @DuffCon. He hooked me up with a 16" monitor from his recent pickup. This project is only possible at this point because of this. Despite the chassis and wood frame being kind of a mess, the tube was in pretty good shape. I did apply new aquadag, the coating on the tube didn't look as good as it could have. However, it fired up and made a pretty bright and sharp picture! It needs some adjustment and a recap. But it should be good to go.

The harness is easy, I have all the diagrams and can make one no problem using all the scrap harnesses from crap conversions. The transformer problem is going to require a bit thinking. The original made 9VAC, 14VAC, 19VAC, and 100VAC. My plan right now is to make a new board and use a Nintendo transformer that I have lying around and a meanwell power supply for the 5, 12, and -5.

After I get the power supply setup taken care of, I'll make a new harness and fix the game board. I know it has some graphics glitches that need addressing.

Another thing I've already taken care of was the missing cash box door. Lord knows what happened to it, so I made a new one. 3d printed it yesterday for fitting.

At some point soon I'll likely address the lamp box, @Dillweed borrowed it because funny enough be was getting another space firebird mini. He also reproed the bezel since both this one and his were shattered (seems to be common).

I can't wait to make more progress on this machine.

Great work so far. Out of curiosity, is the cash vault door the same one used on other sega titles?

I've been a bit too busy this week to work on this. I gotta order connectors to make a new harness for it. I did however make a new cover for the interlock box, which was missing altogether.
