Space Encounters goodness.

Looks awesome.

100W is a LOT of heat in an enclosed cab from a single light source. Consider looking for a 23 watt Red colored CFL. Save power, save heat, save melting any plastics in there. I know they're available in 13's, so perhaps 2 of them and you'd be set in the spots you need them.

Isn't that for the strobe effect? Don't think a CFL would work for that.

AWESOME!!! I am going through the slow process of building one out. Your marquee is different than mine though. I like yours more. haha

Question.. on your CP controls are they pots or they optical? The SE manual shows them being optical, mine has pots and a logic board. Wondering at one point there was a change..

Thanks for the link! Mine actually has two pots.. that look like.. well pots! There is another pcb on the CP that they connect too.. Interesting.

This game is so much fun, glad to see you got it up and running 100%

I can't take all the credit.
James was key in restoring this gem.
I originally said no to James on buying the lot, since black and whites take too much time to fix.
When I said no, James called Jeff and said, "sure we will pick them up at Vidiot Day 2011!"
Guess no means yes. LOL!
Well, the time and learning process paid off. Your cabinet is the nicer of the two.
I loved the game so much, James and I fixed the 2nd one for me!
And two more games saved!!!

Good thing James only likes fixing them and not hoarding them like me!

Looks great. You are quite blessed.

I have wanted one of these for quite a while. There was a dead one that the last auction that I had high hopes for, but John Yates was actually willing to put down money for it, so he got it and I didn't (I won't go over 50 for a dead black and white).

space encounters

jeff,
the game came out really nice, this is the reason i got into this hobby, this is like a museum piece. way to go! nice addition to a wonderful collection!

What gets me is it's been for sale for so long. I should offer him up $100 see what he says,

but on second thought I think my wife would kill me if I added another game in the
garage!???!?!?

Space Encounters working for $300 in Canada?!?!?!?!

The pics look fine.
Which way is friggin' Canada?!?!?!

Dude!

There was one in Wisconsin not working on the for sale forum ..for ever.. like $200. It would have been gone at first post if it was anywhere close to Texas.
