Space Duel - Whats the best way to get the black paint off with minimal damage to art

Restoration started by previous owner, this cab is actually in great shape, now its my labor of love.
Suggestions as to how to get the black paint off with the least harm to artwork appreciated!
WG Monitor is nice and clear and I want to do a full resto, proper CP and all, thats the long term goal,
in the meantime....... shes just my Bad mamma JAMMA

Of course test in an inconspicuous spot, but.....I've had great luck with Goof Off, the nasty strong stuff that will strip paint. In my experience, it hasn't smeared the original art on Atari cabinets, but will remove black marks, paint splatter, etc..

+1 here for the 3M safest stripper.

What I've done is lay the cab on its side, don't leave it on too long, and don't do the entire side at once.

I can't exactly remember now, but some years back on RGVAC there were threads about this that included a recommended duration to leave the stripper to work before wiping off. I think it was about 10 minutes at a time, but I'd search and check.
Good luck!

Another +1 for safest stripper. I did a Millipede that way and it came out clean.

Another vote for 3M Safest Stripper. Atari sideart is damn near bullet proof. I have even done cleanup work on my Centipede with acetone.
