Hey guys, just seeing if anyone else knows off the top of their head what could be causing this.

My Space Duel plays great, except all the enemies spawn from the lower left hand corner of the screen. I just wait for them to appear and annihilate them, over and over.

I thought I was pretty awesome for a while, until it was pointed out to me that the enemies should be coming from RANDOM locations around the screen.

My thinking is that a chip responsible for generating randomness is bad. I actually have two other partially working SD boards, so swapping stuff around in an attempt to pinpoint the problem is cool.

Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing the replies.

I think it was Ken that told me how you thought you were so awesome and I think he said you deflated like a balloon when the problem was pointed out to you. Which is worse: realizing you're not so good at it after all or thinking the game is not challenging enough for good replay value?

Yeah, I should have known when my scores were higher than Ken's that something was up. I hadn't played SD since I was a kid, so my memory of the game was less than perfect.

I bet Ken was happy to hear that my game was screwed up as well. I think I had told him that he should be kicked out of the IVGHOF if I was better at any game than him :)

For the record, I mostly don't mind if games are too easy. Usually that is just right for a player like me. You won't see me playing much Defender.

Pokeys are used to generate randomness on other Atari boards so I'd look at them (I think there are two on SD boards) first.

Dan

We have a winner!! Thanks Dan P.

It was a Pokey, the one on top when viewing the PCB through the coin door. And thats exactly how I changed it.

Quickest fix ever. That crap is coming at me from everywhere now.
