SOLD - GAME Space Duel - North Carolina - might part out

agreed to all. as i noted earlier and to your point, this is perhaps the beginning of a widening trend, even in a preservationist community like KLOV.

my only point was that it doesn't help anyone to re-paint the issue as anything other than sellers wanting more money, not "i had no choice to part it out because [reasons]". i'm not saying it's right/wrong, good/bad, ethical/evil ... just saying call it what it is
it has nothing to do with game values, because value is wholly subjective to what a buyer will pay, not a seller's feelings. sellers have had a long, exponential, lucrative run, and now the tide in turning in ways that are making some increasingly uncomfortable.

it's no mystery (nor is it wrong or objectionable) why some of the whales in the hobby are cashing out. anyone wanting to max their investments or payout (or however you wanna frame it) would probably be wise to do so soon. people gotta do what they gotta do.

OP - sorry for shitting up your thread - good luck

Refreshing would be if those preaching would consider the fact that not all sellers " want more money so i'm parting it" but they NEED more money. Not every forum member makes $300k a year and can afford to take huge losses to preserve something. I have purchased all kinds of things from people in the last year because they are being forced to downsize or are just older and tired of fighting higher costs to fix a project.

The invisible tax called inflation hurts everybody, some worse than others. When this happens the hobby and collectable stuff is the first to get sold off.

There were times when gas wasn't $5 a gallon either. The point is that the current economy is driving people to HAVE to make it all about the money.

Man that was a steal at $1250 then. I think shipping costs kill a lot of sales as well.
Yeah it was a good price. If I hadn't already bought Bob's space duel cocktail, I'd have been all over that. By the time I was ready to buy, Bob had decided (wisely) to keep it!

I Need a 6100 monitor for my near mint Tempest if you wanna sell it. I like space duel but Tempest is more arguably more historical Significant. Whoever said that it was the red headed step child was right.

Unpopular Opinion:

Parted out machines help keep other machines going. If someone never bought a part from a parted out machine, let them cast the first stone.

Exactly there's this guy at work that no one really likes, I keep trying to tell him the same thing. If he parted out his organs he could help so many other people live.

I'm going to skip on past all the economy opinions here and just say that shipping kills EVERY deal for me. If I can't go pick it up I'm not buying it. That's been the case for years now (before the $500 for 100mi price point) simply because I'm no longer taking the risk of not seeing it in person and the fact that they usually get f'd up in transport. I'm not dealing with any of that crap anymore. No more payment scams, nothing.

View, pay, pack, drive, done.
