Actually that's not what happened!
I bought the game a couple of months back. Been preoccupied with things at work and never got around to bringing it in the game room. So it was just sitting in my garage.
A couple of nights ago, my wife and I were watching the Olympics and we both heard a big boom sound from the garage. I had assumed that some creatures knocked over our garbage cans. Went outside didn't see anything.
Yesterday I went into the garage, and noticed a weird reflection from the game's glass. It was totally shattered but still in tact. Very bizarre look. Pushed it in with my finger a little and it started to cave in to the center. Opened the control panel up, put a plastic bag in the cab and started removing the glass in chunks. Mostly remained in tact while I did that but there were a million little pieces all over the place when I was done.
It's been a hot summer so I'm guessing that pressure built up inside the cab.
There's a shuffle bowler right next to it with the back off and that didn't burst. It likely has a plate glass backglass anyway.
Leaning on the shuffle bowler are 4 sheets of old pinball glass standing on some corrugated cardboard, all still in one piece.
I guess the lesson to be learned is to leave the back door off or coin door open to ventilate the cab in hot weather.
Thanks to everyone who has offered me a replacement and those who have provided dimensions! This is a great group.
I assume you put tempered glass on concrete.. Hopefully its lesson learned.
There is a chance I might have a spare, but don't bet on it and I am not going to be able to look for it for a few weeks. Hopefully you will find one before (It would be behind my pins and I have to move 12 games to get to it).
