Hoping to get some feedback about a couple of products to improve my SD. Saw a video by Todd from TNT Amusements where he recommends a low voltage board from vector repair...

http://vector-repair.com/

But I see there's a similar product at arcadeshop...

Any thoughts as to which one to go with?

A separate issue, but I'm also planning on getting the AVG upgrade since it was so highly recommended by Andrew B.

There is no difference, in fact I'm fairly certain that they are the exact same product. I bought mine directly from the guy who makes them (vector-repair.com) rather than through arcadeshop. Nothing against arcadeshop but I met Jeff once and liked him, so I bought directly from him. He also offers the LV2000 lite, which is a bit less expensive and works just as well. Jeff warranties them for life, and shipping is included in his price so pricewise there isn't as big a difference as it may appear.

There is nothing wrong with adding this to your monitor, but if it's working properly now, it won't actually "improve" anything. It replaces some parts on the deflection board that commonly fail, particularly when used in a Tempest. I still recommend it, but just don't expect your game to look or play any differently... it's a maintenance upgrade rather than a performance one.

Thanks. I see Jeff has really good installation instructions, too. That always helps seal the deal for me. :)

They do the same job, but they are different. The one from arcadeshop is slightly larger so that it can use fixed pins at the exact locations that mate up with the vacated holes in the 6100 deflection board. Instructions are here.

The one from vector-repair is smaller (or much smaller: there are two versions, one of which has adjustment pots) and two of the five connections are by short wire leads. It has a free replacement policy.

I've used both and had no trouble with either, but prefer the arcadeshop version because the pins include plastic spacers that are pressed tightly against the board, reducing the possibility of any strain on traces on either board.
